Anshul Tewari is the Founder of Youth Ki Awaaz, India’s largest civic engagement platform working at the intersection of citizen voice, data, and public policy. Over the past 18 years, he has built Youth Ki Awaaz into a participatory civic infrastructure that enables young people to write, to be counted through polling and data, and to move issues from personal experience into public narrative and policy change through accelerated programs. The platform partners with governments, multilaterals, and foundations to generate beneficiary-led insights that strengthen programme design and implementation, and enables over 200,000 young people each month to engage in public issues through storytelling, polling, and community participation.
Anshul’s work focuses on strengthening participatory governance in the digital age, and exploring how emerging technologies such as AI can enable more responsive, inclusive, and citizen-informed public systems. He is a Skoll World Fellow, Ashoka Fellow, United Nations ITU Young Innovator, Forbes 30 Under 30 and serves on Snap Inc.’s Global Safety Advisory Board, as well as the board of trustees of the Internet Freedom Foundation. He has previously served on the UN Women Civil Society Advisory Board and was a founding trustee of Collectively - a Unilever and World Economic Forum collaborative non profit.
