
Debabrata Ghosh is a senior consulting professional with over 22 years of experience across the social sector, infrastructure and government advisory space. He is currently a Partner in the Education and Skill Development practice and Chief Operating Officer – Government & Public Services at KPMG in India, where he works extensively on education, skilling, employment and large-scale government programmes.
Throughout his career, Debabrata has led and advised on multiple large-scale, country-wide initiatives in skill development, education and livelihood generation. His experience extends beyond these areas to public-private partnerships, project finance, social and public infrastructure, monitoring and evaluation, impact financing, policy advisory and strategy consulting. He has worked closely with central and state governments, donor agencies, private-sector organisations and major philanthropic foundations, bringing together diverse stakeholders to design and implement programmes at scale.
Debabrata has also been actively involved in shaping conversations around India's future workforce, next-generation skills and education reform. He has served as a speaker and moderator at prominent education and skills forums and has contributed to initiatives such as the FICCI–KPMG Next-Gen Skills work, where he has highlighted the importance of inclusive skilling, addressing informality and digital divides, and preparing India’s workforce for an AI-driven future. His academic background includes a PGP from IIM Ahmedabad, a Master of Engineering from IIEST Shibpur and a Bachelor of Engineering from NIT Jamshedpur.
