
Dr. Mahua Maji is a distinguished Indian parliamentarian, acclaimed novelist, article and short-story writer, sociologist, political leader and social activist. She is currently a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, representing Jharkhand.
She has made significant contributions to literature, social thought, women's empowerment and public life. Her multifaceted career reflects a deep and sustained engagement with issues concerning society, gender, indigenous communities, displacement, culture and human rights.
Dr. Mahua Maji formerly served as the Chairperson of the Jharkhand State Commission for Women. She has also served as the former Central President of the Women's Wing of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
Dr. Mahua Maji holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Sociology.
