As Chief Strategy Officer at eGov Foundation, Gautham shapes the organization's strategy across India and globally to align governance with citizen outcomes. He also leads eGov's policy initiatives and engagement with governments and ecosystems. What distinguishes his approach is the belief in shared narratives and coalitions and an ability to seamlessly stitch together strategy, technology, policy, and on-ground execution that translate complex governance challenges into approaches that deliver real impact for citizens.
He was part of the founding team from eGov that helped build and institutionalise the National Urban Digital Mission with the Government of India in 2019. Earlier in his career, at Janaagraha, he led the Ward Infrastructure Index Program and was a founding team member of The Education Alliance. An urbanist by background, Gautham has also driven eGov's expansion beyond urban governance into sectors including public health, sanitation, and public finance.
Gautham holds a Master of International Business (MIB) from The Fletcher School at Tufts University, where his studies focused on social enterprises and the use of business models to reach underserved populations. While at Fletcher, he organized and co-chaired the inaugural Tufts Innovation Symposium on Scaling Innovation in Emerging Markets.
