Gudiya, a resident of Agra, has been a member of SHG since 2017 and currently serves as a Samuh Sakhi. An entrepreneur with over seven years of experience, she started her cosmetics shop in 2019, followed by a Pashu Ahaar business in 2022. With a family of five, including three children, Gudiya has always believed in creating multiple sources of income for her family. With skills in sewing and an Intermediate-level education, she wanted to start a sewing centre but was held back by the challenge of irregular electricity supply. In August 2026, she adopted solar energy, which helped her turn this aspiration into reality and start a sewing centre as an additional source of income. Today, she is fondly known as “Solar Wali Didi” in her village-not only because she adopted solar energy, but because she actively encourages other women to explore solar as a reliable and empowering solution for their homes and livelihoods. Please join us in welcoming Gudiya as she shares her journey and her experience of adopting solar energy.
