Krishna Thacker is a Senior Program Officer at the Gates Foundation in India, focused on accelerating inclusive and equitable economic growth by expanding women’s access to capital, markets, and digital opportunities at scale.

He works across public systems and private markets to strengthen large national platforms such as India’s National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), serving over 100 million women. Earlier in his career, he contributed to India’s digital transformation by advancing Aadhaar-enabled financial infrastructure that helped unlock hundreds of millions of new bank accounts and direct benefit transfers.

Over two decades across 14 countries in Asia-Pacific, the United States, and Latin America, Krishna has mobilized, deployed, and managed hundreds of millions of dollars in philanthropic capital and impact investments to drive durable systems-level change.
