Pranjal Lahensingh Patil is a 2017-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre and India’s first visually impaired woman to join the Indian Administrative Service.

Having lost her vision at the age of six, she pursued her education at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and completed her Master’s degree and M.Phil. in International Relations at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Relying on assistive screen-reading technology, she cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination with an All India Rank of 124 in 2017 after securing Rank 744 in 2016.

Her administrative career includes notable field postings in Kerala as Assistant Collector (Under Training) in Ernakulam and Sub-Collector of Thiruvananthapuram. In the Government of NCT of Delhi, she currently serves in the Directorate of Education as both the Additional Director (Vocational) and the State Project Director (SPD), Samagra Shiksha, DoE, GNCT of Delhi , overseeing educational administration, skill development, and inclusive public governance.
