
Rohit Bharadwaj is the Additional Director General of the Data Informatics & Innovation Division (DIID) at the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Government of India. An Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officer of the 1998 batch, he has been a driving force behind the digital transformation of India's National Statistical Office (NSO). He plays a pivotal role in creating frameworks to make public data AI-ready through structured, machine-readable formats. Rohit has successfully spearheaded major institutional innovations, leading the launch of centralized data systems like the e-Sankhyiki portal, executing the national-level STATATHON 2025 challenge, and piloting emerging technologies to advance the safety and scope of generative AI within official public statistics.
