His notable assignments include serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs and Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, as well as Secretary (Budget and Resources) in Karnataka's Finance Department, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Commissioner of Survey, Settlement and Land Records, and Deputy Commissioner of Vijayapura.
