
Ms. Swati Sharma is a distinguished IAS officer of the 2003 batch (AGMUT Cadre) currently serving as Joint Secretary, NRLM, Ministry of Rural Development. She has over 2 decades of experience in public administration, finance, urban, and allied sectors in Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Union Territory of Delhi. Before joining the Govt of India in June 2023, she was working as Special Secretary to Lt Governor of Delhi from 2013 to 2020, then as Secretary Tourism, Govt. of Delhi, and during COVID times as Secretary Health, Govt. of Delhi. In 2017, she was selected as one of the 32 Eisenhower Fellows in the US, from across the world, exchanging knowledge and ideas with American thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners in their respective fields. She is also an Edward S. Mason Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Govt and holds a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard University. She now leads initiatives focused on rural livelihoods of 10 crore+ Self-Help Group women and enterprise development of Lakhpati didis under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) in the Ministry of Rural Development.
