Varun Verma is the Head of Technology for ITCMAARS, ITC's digital ecosystem focused on transforming Indian agriculture through technology, data and innovation.

A graduate of IIT Madras, Class of 2005, Varun brings over two decades of experience in product engineering and technology leadership. He has worked with global technology companies including IBM and SAP, where he built and scaled enterprise products and technology platforms across diverse industries.

After nearly 17 years in the corporate world, Varun ventured into entrepreneurship and co-founded an AgriTech startup, serving as Founder and CTO. This experience gave him first-hand exposure to the opportunities and challenges of applying technology to real-world agricultural problems and creating solutions that deliver value to farmers and agribusinesses.

At ITC, Varun leads the technology charter for ITCMAARS, driving platform strategy, product engineering, data and AI initiatives, and digital innovation across the agri value chain. A technologist at heart, he is known as a hands-on engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with a strong understanding of agriculture, business operations and digital transformation.

His passion lies in building technology that scales, solving complex business problems, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI to create meaningful impact in the agricultural ecosystem.
