
Nithya Ramesh is Director, Jana Urban Space Foundation works on urban policy, planning and design across cities and states in India. She has been with Jana Urban Space Foundation, committed to the group’s mission on fixing India’s cities since 2013. She works on innovative policies, plans and transformative projects spanning the fields of street design, public space design, neighbourhood improvement plans, energy efficient affordable housing all with a focus on climate and gender. She is an Eisenhower Womens Leadership Fellow (2024) and was part of a high level committee on urban planning reforms at MoHUA ( 2022 – 2024). She holds a master’s degree (M.Arch) in Urban Design and Creative Urban Practices from the Glasgow School of Art and a bachelor degree in architecture, (B.Arch) from Anna University, Chennai.
